Lior Keinan began his assignment as Ambassador of Israel to South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mauritius in August 2017.
Previously he served as Deputy Ambassador to Peru, Mexico City and Lisbon Portugal where he was responsible for the political, commercial, cultural and public relations between the two countries. Lior was also responsible for diplomatic relations between Israel and Northern European countries as Deputy Director in the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before Lior’s assignment as Ambassador of Israel to South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mauritius he was Director of the Training Department at the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was responsible for all Ministry training programs.
Lior holds a BA Degree in International Relations from the Hebrew University as well as an MBA from the Derby University, Tel Aviv Campus. Lior is fluent in English, Hebrew, Spanish and Portuguese. He is married to Sarit and they have three daughters and one son.
